How You Can Help

  • Spay or neuter - Have your dog or cat spayed or neutered, and encourage others to do so. Learn all about our low cost spay/neuter program and more on our spay/neuter page.

  • Calico CatAdopt a homeless dog or cat - Click on the tab for OUR PETS to see our wonderful, adoptable dogs and cats.  For information on how to adopt, click on our ADOPTION tab. Don’t buy your next best friend! ADOPT a deserving, homeless dog or cat.

  • Become a foster parent - Fostering allows adoptable animals to move out of the shelter while they are waiting for their new home, opening up more space in the shelter and giving more dogs and cats a second chance at a new life! Learn more about how you can help by fostering animals.

  • Report abuse - Caroline County residents can report acts of cruelty, abuse or neglect to CCHS.  We will investigate every complaint received.  You do not have to give your name if you choose to remain anonymous. Call the shelter at 410-820-1600 or E-mail us at .

  • Become a member - By becoming a member of CCHS, you help ensure that we will be able to continue caring for the abused, neglected, lost, abandoned, homeless animals of Caroline County.  You will receive a quarterly newsletter telling of recent and upcoming events, along with happy ending adoption stories, and informational tidbits. Visit our membership page to join today.

  • Donate money - As the population of our county grows, so does the work of the Caroline County Humane Society. While we receive a significant portion of our operating budget from the Caroline County government, we must also raise approximately 1/2 of our operating budget through donations and fundraisers simply to make ends meet. Visit our donations page for more information.

  • Donate items - Donate items from our wish list or a Kuranda dog bed. You can even donate for free every time you shop. Learn what we need and how to donate on our wish list page.

  • Donate your car, boat, yacht, truck, or RV that you no longer need to the Caroline County Humane Society! CCHS is now accepting these donations through Action Donation Services (ADS). Get more information on our property donation page.

  • Participate in Coldmaster's Give Back program. Coldmaster supports the Caroline County Humane Society by donating $25 every time a patron of CCHS invests in a service agreement or calls Coldmaster for service.

  • Volunteer - We love our volunteers!  There are so many ways that you can help out the animals and staff at our shelter. We’d love to hear from you. Get all the details on our volunteer page!

  • Support the Caroline County Humane Society by using GoodSearch - Add the Caroline County Humane Society toolbar to Internet Explorer or Firefox. Once the Caroline County Humane Society toolbar is added, each time you shop at one of the more than 1,300 participating stores, a percentage of what you spend will be donated to us at no extra cost to you! (you could even save money as the toolbar provides coupons and deals). The toolbar also has a search box and each time you search the Internet, about a penny is donated to us. No registration is required! http://www.goodsearch.com/toolbar/caroline-county-humane-society
