Frequently Asked Questions
No. While we have a partnership with Animal Control to house the animals they bring in, Caroline County Animal Control works under the Sheriff’s Department. You can contact Animal Control directly by calling 410-479-4007.
No, we do not. The Caroline County Health Department sometimes offers shot clinics, as well as Petco and Tractor Supply. Appointments are necessary for these clinics so be sure to call ahead. Animals that go through our spay and neuter program, however, can receive a rabies shot, if needed, for a $5 charge as part of the service. TNR (Trap, Neuter & Release) cats automatically get a rabies vaccination at no charge.
In order to surrender a pet or a stray, we strongly suggest you call us first. In the case of dogs, we may not always have room and may ask you to wait a few days before surrendering.
Owned Pets: If for some reason you can no longer provide care for your pet you must make an appointment with us to bring in the animal (We prefer appointments between 11:00 am and 3 pm. You must have proof of being a Caroline County resident.
Stray Animals: You can bring a stray animal in anytime between 11:00 am and 3 pm. We do ask that you call ahead if possible so we can prepare a kennel before intake.
Yes, the pet pantry is available to all Caroline County residents. You may come 1x per month during our open hours of operation. The pet pantry is not meant to provide you will all the food you'll need for a month, but rather to help tide you over until you can restock your own pet food.

Yes, for Caroline County residents only. Prices subject to change. Note: You can also ask about the availability of grant $ for FREE spay and neuter services (to qualifying candidates).
