Get Involved

Be Part of the Work That Changes Lives

There are many ways to support the animals at Caroline County Humane Society, and every contribution makes a difference. Whether you have time to volunteer, space in your home to foster, resources to sponsor programs, or simply want to donate supplies, there is a place for you to get involved.

Our work is powered by the compassion of our community. Volunteers walk dogs, socialize cats, assist with events, and help with daily shelter operations. Foster families provide temporary homes for animals who need extra care or a quieter environment while they wait for adoption. Community partners and sponsors help us expand programs that serve both animals and the people who love them.

For students, volunteering can also be a meaningful way to earn high school service hours while gaining hands-on experience and learning about animal care and community service.

No matter how you choose to get involved, you become part of the network of people helping animals find safety, care, and second chances.

Volunteer

Program

Our volunteer program offers opportunities for individuals who want to make a direct impact on the lives of shelter animals. Volunteers help with walking dogs, socializing cats, assisting with events, and supporting daily shelter operations.

Whether you have a few hours a week or a few hours a month, volunteers play a vital role in improving the quality of life for the animals in our care.

Foster

Program

Foster homes provide temporary care for animals who need a break from the shelter environment. This can include kittens too young for adoption, animals recovering from illness or surgery, or pets who benefit from a quieter home setting.

Fostering helps us save more lives by creating space in the shelter while giving animals the individualized care they need to thrive.

Upcoming
Events

Supporting our shelter events is a meaningful way to help animals in need while connecting with your community.

These events raise critical funds that go directly toward providing food, medical care, shelter, and adoption services for the animals we care for every day. Whether you attend, sponsor, or help spread the word, your involvement makes a real difference.
