Listing and Adopting Pets through Rehoming​

Sometimes life changes, and finding a new home for a beloved pet becomes necessary. When that happens, surrendering your pet to the shelter isn't always the only option.

Our Rehoming Pets page helps connect local pet owners who can no longer keep their animals directly with people who may be able to give them a new home. Rehoming a pet directly allows them to transition from one home to another without having to enter the shelter, which can reduce stress for the animal while also helping us preserve shelter space for animals who have nowhere else to go.

Need to Rehome Your Pet?

If you are able to safely keep your pet while searching for a new home, we encourage you to consider direct rehoming before surrendering them to the shelter.

You can create a profile for your pet using one of the rehoming services below. 

You have two options for listing your pet: Adopt a Pet charges a small listing fee, but CCHS had a special code to receive 90% off the listing fee. CCHS85020

Home To Home is free to use and allows you to create a profile for your pet at no cost.You'll be able to share information about your pet, including their personality, history, photos, and what type of home may be the best fit.

When creating your pet's profile, we encourage you to be honest and thorough. Sharing accurate information about your pet's personality, medical history, behavior, experience with children or other animals, and any special needs will help potential adopters decide whether they may be a good match.
